Biography

Juho Song continues his creative practice using performing arts as his primary medium, centered around the motif of "theatrical space-time." His work prioritizes a sensory ecosystem that emerges from spontaneous reactions to the uncertainties of the moment within a specific time frame, rather than focusing on the creator’s intent or narrative. This is achieved not through a refined or linear plot but through the real-time unfolding of heterogeneous narratives. Performers and audiences drift together in this uneven space-time, forming an imagined community through the performance.

Viewing the stage as a site of disaster and events, he employs slapstick comedy to craft unexpected situations. Moving beyond the physical use of actors, he designs structures where the work itself falls into slapstick scenarios, making the uncertainty and heterogeneity of the narrative central elements of the piece.
