Biography

Sooji Lee is more interested in howthings are made rather than what is made. She focuses on designing the processes, systems, tools, and apparatuses required to create something, and uses these to generate the final outcome. Her work does not follow a linear flow, where a task starts and ends in a sequential manner. Instead, it proceeds in a way where a methodology that begins within a specific context is continuously added to, modified, and expanded upon. Her visual expressions primarily depict the clustering and density created by the aggregation of minimal units of matter. This approach naturally emerges from her attitude of valuing process and time.
