Biography
Leeje explores the possibilities of expanding the medium of painting to capture the affective dynamics of contemporary life. Through vivid and tangible imagery, she renders the interplay between everyday experiences and dreamlike imagination within an uncertain world.

For her, ‘painting’ is an event that senses the ambiguity of existence and a field of resonance that connects with external reality. ‘The practice of painting’ is a means of momentarily retreating from an expanding and fragmenting world, seeking to engage with various subjects and their temporal and spatial dimensions.

Biography
Arong Chung(b. 1981) produces paintings with hopes to restore the magical powers which art works had originally possessed. The artist composes narratives borrowing motifs from myths, legends, religions, etc, and using various symbols that have long existed in mankind, depicts a mystical and archetypal world. The artist also practices ancient methods such as egg tempera, metal point drawing and ceramic in which by going through their rather delicate and complicated process, the artist intersects with the world of painting, recalling its magic.

Biography

I would sometimes be obsessed with the compulsive urge to express two opposing concepts at the same time. Why can't we vocalize two words at the same time?
I want to draw a picture where various stories coexist on one screen. In order to capture a narrative that collides with each other, harmonizes and works auxiliaryly, a large-scale painting work is mainly carried out.
I want to capture the birth and disappearance of the universe, a huge narrative like life and death, and even the subjective and emotional parts like the change of seasons and the heart of missing loved ones in my work.
