Biography
Park Yena works across installation and new media, exploring unfamiliar forms of vitality that emerge in the cracks and ruptures of a human-centered world. Observing how humans relate to artificial objects, she focuses on the ways built environments—originally designed for efficiency and utility—come to shape and regulate our thoughts and behaviors in return.
In her work, familiar artificial surroundings are reimagined as unknown ecosystems. Within these speculative environments, man-made objects move across the boundaries of space and time, the real and the virtual, appearing as seemingly autonomous beings. By imagining other life forms and unknown worlds that feed on human activity, Park considers how anthropocentric order might dissolve within broader ecological cycles, and what new centers might emerge in its place.
