More than half the world’s population now lives in cities, and extreme weather events resulting from climate change, congestion, popullation and growing urban sprawl are daily realities faced by many urban dwellers. The United Nations Environment Programmes is organizing the exhibition that puts the spotlight on innovative approaches to dealing with the challenges that cities face today. The exhibition is done in collaboration with Korean artists using art, architecture, design along with engaging performance to showcase these approaches and urban issues. This isn’t just for interpreting or representing the visual aspects of city life, but for suggesting the futuristic vision, which is built around the acceptance and concern of human life in the urban environment. During the exhibition, this idea of ‘urban play’ will be discussed by experts, expanding our understanding of the urban life and its impacts.
