Biography
Born in 1983 in the surbub of Paris, Yohan Hàn is an artist based in Seoul.
He is interested in the performative potential of combining traditional materials such as animal skins with technological forms. He creates installations and performances using media devices in a quasi-archaeological logic as well as an important approach to neoshamanism context and elements of ancestral heritage such as the making of native drums with new shapes. Then he consider these bodies from the angle of “resonance” and “sensoriality”. The aims is to explore in depth the processus of communication between several physical bodies in an environment increasingly saturated with digital images and continuous flows of information. His recent research aims to simulate a form of sensory awakening through physical communion, exploring the body as resonator, instrument and anchor between the carnal and the digital.
