Biography
Mingyu Song transforms images observed in the physical world into data, editing them to reconstruct virtual landscapes. Data that undergoes a process of translation into symbolic systems according to his own rules does not result in a faithful representation of reality, but rather forms abstract structures that operate within a defined order. Edited through personal reflection and sensory experience and transferred onto the canvas, his works move between reality and virtuality, between images that are seen and images that are read, exploring the potential expansion of the formal language of abstract painting through the grammar of repetition and editing.
