Biography
Kim Doyoung investigates into the background and context of various phenomena that take place in contemporary society. He curates questions regarding issues of the contemporary world which are brought up by how we interact with time and the time-specific status quo that’s refracted between the gaps of society. He brings up these discussions through ritualistic actions.
The
artist received his BFA in Sculpture at Université du Québec à Montréal. After
his degree, he took part in the L’Espace19 AIR program in Bordeaux and began
actively exhibiting in Alternative Space LOOP, Seoul; SeMA Bukseoul Museum of
Arts, Seoul; Space XX, Seoul; Asia Culture Center, Gwangju; and various
locations in Canada and France. He’s a current participant in Gueumcheon Seoul
Art Space Residency.
