Biography
Dappertutto Studio is a team and performance name created with the aim of 'becoming one performance' throughout its existence. 'Dappertutto', meaning 'flowing everywhere', refers to placeless work, while 'Studio' signifies the site-specific work of the place where the performance occurs. As declared in its name, Dappertutto Studio aims to 'see the contradictory at once (the unity of opposites)', and the definitions of performers and audience are determined along this direction. The performers of Dappertutto Studio, before being actors, aim to reincarnate as new 'performers' by combining with the 'object' as 'viewers' of the 'movement of an object that has not occurred', and the audience, also before being mere viewers, are encouraged to perform the role of performers who record and objectify 'their own gaze'. The theater of Dappertutto Studio is not about transferring stories on stage but about creating the body of theater and the objects of theater with signs that depart from meaning.
