Biography

Departing from the question Woojin Kim explores as an observer of a particular society, the artist pursues a dispositif to initiate an unnoticed frame that secretly works on an individual. Through this practice, she tries making a fissure on what is firmly regarded as "true or false" and "good or bad," and creates a place for questions to arise. She extends her project from previous practices that revolve around languages that have now vanished or are vanishing, demonstrating the rapid transformation into the digital world of today and the digital extinction of language that has also accelerated. Mediated by vanishing languages, the project aims to examine and question what we miss out, what is regarded to be the others, and what is defined to be peripheral.
