Biography
Boyun Jang works on recreating the memory and history of existence through various approaches using photographic images as materials. In the early stages of her work, she was fascinated by the fundamental act of "seeing" inherent in the medium of photography and its significance in reproduction. Subsequently, she focused on the effect of loss inherent in photographic images, immersing herself in vanished moments of the past, traveling to specific places, and documenting the journey of reproducing the subjects of images while simultaneously writing about them. Starting from 2020, her work has expanded to include directing documentary video works involving actors and expanding the scope of her work from photographic images to video media through multi-channel editing.
